1. As per usual, travel was the name of the game. Logan, Plain City, Bear Lake, and back to Logan within the week. Not to mention Ryan driving back and forth for work twice. Why do we do this to ourselves?
2. Family time is our favorite. Whether we are loving on cousins, scoring Swedish fish from favorite uncle Tay Tay, or dealing with our grief by using inappropriate humor- we really like being with our peeps.
3. A few surprise gifts for the Jeffrey Palmers. A Go-Pro for the elder, and custom framed diplomas for Dr. Palmer's new office.
4. Dad's Dinner #4 (how?!) We sure miss that guy.
5. Reuniting with some of our favorite friends. Why can't all my people live near me? Is it really asking too much for my entire neighborhood to be filled with sisters, mamas, brothers, cousins, Aggies, Buckeyes, and Montana-ins?
6. Cabin fun that included finding out every one's favorite uncle Paul is soon going to be GRANDPA Paul (and a mighty good one at that); gift exchange gifts that went above and beyond this year (i.e. handmade tables, decorative deer heads, and pregnancy announcements); and lots of yelling during Wacky 6.
7. Sledding "100 feet!" down the hills of Bear Lake. Stella is lucky to have so many young and adoring fans who take her on sledding adventures. I was just proud I got out there, took a few photos, and pulled the kiddos around the driveway a bit.
8. New Year's Eve saw most of the Palmer clan enjoying their last meals before their Biggest Loser competition started. The little girls loved Uncle John's fireworks, and the big girls were just a little excited to finally beat the boys in Sequence.
9. A lovely New Year's day spent waiting for to eat lunch for over two hours (don't go to Herm's on a holiday), and reliving our ten-year-old Aladdin's Castle glory days at the arcade. I may or may not have beat Ryan five times in a row in arcade basketball. It was a proud moment, and I'm sure Coach Hansen was especially impressed with my form.
10. Miniature bowling shoes on a couple of first timers.
Thanks for the fun, Christmas Week 2013. It's no wonder I fell into a slight depression when we returned. It's sort of hard to get back to real life after having so much fun and being with so many people we love for seven straight days. Let's do it again sometime.
