Da Da Da. Driving in My Car.

Yes, we got a new car!! We are so excited about it and just love driving it so far. We decided to get one now for a few reasons, but mainly due to the fact that I will no longer be on campus starting in a few weeks and Ryan really didn't want to walk to Wal-Mart to catch the bus every morning. I guess I can't blame him. We started looking about three weeks ago and finally took the plunge on Thursday. Going in we didn't really know what we wanted, except we knew we liked some type of SUV. After doing some research we really liked the Hyundai Santa Fe and found the best deals on them anyway. (And yes, the racing stripe pretty much sealed the deal....it will hopefully be gone soon!!)

This one is a 2004 with 65K miles. It has been well cared for and the inside seems brand new still. We didn't want leather going into our search, but once we drove around and sat on our seat warmers we quickly changed our minds! Hopefully this car will last us a long time and we will continue to enjoy it as much as we have the past few days.

Besides car shopping not too much is new with us. I realized my last few posts have been about very defined topics and haven't discussed what we have been up to ourselves. I think you can guess what it is we have been doing and you would be right. School, school, and more school (and a little work for me mixed in). I will only be working for one more week and then I will be done for a while. This is because I won't be on campus for school at all next quarter. I only have three more weeks of classes as an undergraduate student!! I can't even believe it. I still don't graduate until June, so April through graduation will be spent finishing my clinical rotations. I just found out I will be spending the first 4 weeks (Mon-Thurs) counseling patients with diabetes at the Central Ohio Diabetes Association. My LAST 6 weeks (Mon-Fri, 8-5) will spent at Nationwide Children's Hospital and I am so excited. I don't know which area I will be working in exactly, but I should get to see most of the inpatient units (cardiac, GI, cancer, burn, etc.) I am taking a pediatric nutrition class this quarter and it has gotten me really interested in working with this population.
Ryan of course is very busy with school, but he is doing awesome!! He has to spend a lot of time studying and in the lab at school, but I think he feels that his hard work has been paying off this quarter. I am so proud of him and his hard work. Besides school he is keeping up on Aggie Basketball, anxiously awaiting the baseball season, and even hitting a little at the batting cages. For Valentine's Day I took him to some local batting cages and we hit for a little while. He has already been back and I am sure he will become a regular over the next few years.
We are eagerly awaiting the end of the quarter for many reasons, but especially because we are heading to Myrtle Beach, SC. Along with 5 other couples we will be spending a week in a condo on the beach. We got an awesome deal (~$100 per couple for the WHOLE week!) and can't wait for food, games, SUN!!, and laughs.
This Tuesday is our 3 year anniversary! I can't believe it. The last few years have flown by, but they have been wonderful and I wouldn't trade them for anything. I am so grateful for the experiences and memories I get to share with my husband, and can't wait to make more!!

This picture was taken at Christmas, but I just love Ry's hat. He got it on his mission in Ukraine.

Wow Taryn! Sounds like things are going really good for you!! Will you email me when you go to Children's? I've been trying to get in touch with a few of the RD's I worked with there! I seriously loved that job, you'll have an awesome rotation! I worked in the GI clinic, hematology/oncology, and infectious disease. We went to Myrtle Beach one spring break. It was so much fun! Have fun!
