April was spent turning another year older, getting settled into our new home, and spending as much time outside and with our families as possible. Being with the people we love must be what brings us true happiness, because it sure is a reoccurring theme.
I have officially started the last year in my twenties and I am feeling great about it. The day started out with a visit to Ryan's office where I got my teeth cleaned. Not really my idea of a party, but at least my dentist is cute. The rest of the afternoon was spent doing the mom thing, but my sweet girls and the loving messages I received all day made it special. Our sweet friend offered to watch the older girls and Ryan somehow managed to get out of mutual, so were able to sneak off for a birthday dinner with the babe in tow. We finally found time to go purchase my gift of a new bike and bike trailer a couple of weeks later, but so far we are loving our family bike rides around the neighborhood.
The first weekend in April found us in Utah enjoying General Conference and celebrating Easter with our families. Highlights included: Eliza and Ruby trying to organize the eggs, but having just a bit of trouble since they always ended up with one left over in their hands. McKenna finding an Aspirin and sewing needle inside one of her eggs thanks to using the coins from Grandma's change collection to fill them. Listening to General Conference. Easter egg hunts x 2. Eliza finding the golden egg filled with five dollars at Nana Teresa's house. And the reminder that because of my Savior, I get to live forever with the people who make me the happiest.
We blessed baby Lucy, read a book (or two hundred), took the babies hiking and made it the entire way, didn't get nearly enough sleep (but did our best to catch up), started a band (the one and only Side by Side by Side Band), and fell more in love with the three little ladies who seem to take it all out of us just to give it all back one hundred times over.
