One-Third

We are officially one-third of the way through Miss Eliza Scott's first year.
What?!  Where is time going?  I just love this little bug so much and want to keep her as my baby love forever.

At four months Eliza is such a happy thing.  It seems that she rarely cries, but instead lets us know of her needs through her jabbering and squawking.  She loves to make noise!
She has found her hands and loves to suck on them all day long.  Really she just wants something in her mouth at all times whether it is those tasty fingers, a soaked burp rag, or some sort of toy.
I had to include a picture in these pajamas, because they are my current favorite.
I could just snuggle this little peanut all day!

She is getting so strong and even though she hates tummy time is getting the hang of holding that head up high.
She also started rolling this past week!
The first success actually took place at the doctor's office during her appointment when she rolled from her belly to her back right in front of the doc. Show off!
Then a few days later she decided to try back to tummy and has been movin' and a groovin' ever since.

Sleeping and eating still seem to be favorite activities, but really who can blame the girl?
We hit a rough patch of about two weeks where E decided she needed to eat every 3 hours through the night.  She hadn't done that since she was about 8 weeks old and after about a week I was ready for my sleepy baby to return.
But even at three in the morning it was hard to get mad when this was my greeting every time I went to retrieve her from her crib:

I am happy to report she is back on track and sleeping much better.
I am sure the grandmas are also happy to hear the news since they will be babysitting for a week very soon.

Baby girl's current stats:
13 lbs 12 oz (50%)
24 1/4 inches (50%)- she grew 4 inches since her last appointment at 6 weeks old!

I decided to look back at what Stella was doing at 4 months and was amazed by how similar my two girls are in not only looks, but habits.
Stella weighed 10 oz less than Eliza does, but they were the exact same length, both started rolling at just about the same time, and I had noted a rough sleeping stretch for Stella right at the 4 month mark.

Eliza is currently taking one bottle of formula each day in preparation for us leaving her in a week and a half when we go on our cruise.
As long as her food is at an acceptable temperature she does great with it.
I have been pumping and storing some milk so while I am gone she will get a little bit of both breast milk and formula each day.
I will be pumping during the cruise and am praying she still wants to nurse when we get back.

Dear Eliza,
You are such a ray of sunshine in our lives.
I love the way you giggle during Patty Cake and endure your sister's incessant poking and prodding with a smile.
You just seem so content with life and make me want to be the same way.
Please don't forget me while I'm gone, I promise I'll return to snuggle you and feed you and kiss those yummy cheeks.
Love you forever, baby girl.
