Highs & Lows

Photo courtesy Molly Landon Photography.  This was only three months ago and she already seems twice the size!

HIGHS:

Preparing a talk for church and then arriving to church to find out you won't be giving it.
Let's just say I got a little extra nervous when I walked in to find the entire Stake Presidency sitting on the stand.
We ended up getting a new Bishopric and spent the hour listening to the testimonies of the old and new Bishops and their wives.
I thought maybe my speaking engagement would get lost in the shuffle of transition, but tis not so.
Barring any unforeseen events I will be speaking next Sunday.

Bachelor Finale.
Plus a few good friends, deliciously unhealthy treats, and over analyzing every detail of the show.
Here is to mindless, semi-trashy reality television!

Sixty-seven degrees...
That would be the expected high temperature on Thursday.
If it pans out I just might break into song.

Friday night date night.
Dinner and a show.
So excited for a night on the town with my boyfriend.

ZUMBA!
Some friends and I signed up for a class at one of the local rec centers.
So excited to go make a fool of myself by shaking my hips to some Latin beats.

A little thing called Spring Break.
Which starts in approximately 24 hours, depending on how fast Ryan can take his last test tomorrow morning.

Letters from Elder Hansen.
Monday is letter day and we all love it!
We weren't able to hear from him last week due to some crazy carnival thing happening in Bolivia,
so yesterdays letter was extra sweet.
He has been transferred to a new area, a large city right in the middle of Santa Cruz.
He says it is much larger and more wealthy than his previous area.
He continues to be District Leader and is now a Trainer.
He is awesome and sounds so great!

I might become an aunt this week!
An aunt!
I have never been one of those before and I think it is going to be quite fun.
Come on baby, Leyla!  Come out and play!

This is post #200.
That is a lot of blogging.
Maybe not that much, considering I have been blogging for just over 3 years.
I like this little blog of mine.
You might even say I love it.
It is the place that I release frustration, remember the good moments, and let my creative juices flow.
So here's to blogging!

LOWS:

Finals week.
If it seems like this topic shows up on the blog every few months, well, it is because it does.
I really like the quarter system for a lot of reasons, but it sure feels like finals come and go like they are going out of style.
I must admit that five finals this go around is sooo much better than the 8 or 9 he usually has.
And it just gets better from here!
Rumor has it is that next quarter ends with only two finals!  Amazing!

My Utah State Aggies getting a 12 seed in the NCAA tournament.
Yes, I know and understand what this means and I care.
Hopefully we can beat Kansas State and show everybody we mean business.
On a happier note my Buckeyes are the overall #1 seed for the tourney.
At least one of my teams has a legitimate shot.

A tax return that will likely no longer be used for exciting adventures, but rather to replace spark plugs and fine tune our lovely car.
This is still up for debate, as Ryan may attempt to fix it himself; and for the fact that we may just hold out as long as possible.
The car really is running just fine, we just decided to find out why our check engine light was on.

My dad's birthday is this week.
Thursday is the day he should be turning 50.
I don't what I am supposed to do about that.
Cry?  Probably.
Get Angry?
Celebrate?
Feeling a little lost on this one.
All I know is he should be here to celebrate that big milestone.
We should be teasing him for being old and making it half way to one hundred.
Is this real life?

Last night was fun over analyzing every detail with you! Thanks for coming over! We may just have to turn Monday nights into bachelor parties from now on;) ha ha and if you think about it- we did have some veggies intertwined in those yummy dips- so I guess you could say they were semi healthy? ha ha (just don't count that handful or two of cadbury eggs and the cookies;)
Sounds like Elder Hansen is doing great in Bolivia! Good for him! Glad you finally got a letter!
Sorry that you have some lows taking place this week. I will cross my fingers that your car doesn't die until Ryan can fix it!
I will be thinking about you on Thursday... I am sorry that he isn't here to spend that special day with you.
Love ya lots! :)

I was just asked last night if we would speak on Sunday as well...it has ruined my whole week! Have you ever given a talk on keeping the Sabbath Day Holy???

Well I am glad you are having some highs in your week. Please share?
1. I'm glad you didn't have to speak in church this last week, but too bad you have to make up for it :) 2. The Bachelor? Got me pumped. Love my life for that reason. 3. 67 degrees eh? Well I am going to Arizona where it will be about 20 degrees warmer! Jealous? I thought so :) 4. I wrote Jace about my horror story last Monday.. He wrote back and said NOTHING about the car. He hates me. Hahah. 5. Dad's 50th birthday. HOLY he's old. I told mom we could wear black but then we thought about it more and decided that would be a really bad idea :) hahah. 6. This is a novel and I love you! Call me later.
