Happy Birthday America

Most people across the country and throughout the world are currently finding numerous reasons to be less than a fan of the United States of America. Whether it is the state of our economy or our politics (or politicians in particular) it seems these days everyone is spreading news that usually ends up leaving you feeling hopeless, depressed, and angry.

But then the calender flips and once again it is July 4th (2009!?!?) and everyone loves America again. A little recurring summer miracle that we can all look forward to each year. Maybe it is because gleeful children line the streets to cheer on parades, the smell of burgers fills the air, bright lights paint the night time sky, or traditions old and new are carried out with friends and family making it easy to forget for just a little while.

And so yesterday we used up all of those excuses to love America again (although I think we never stopped) and spent this fourth of July here in Columbus celebrating with our current family of friends.

Good friends from Logan who now hang out in Pittsburgh came to visit C-town. Fun times trying new flavors at Jeni's, beating everyone at Phase 10 (oh wait, that was just me wasn't it??), homemade salsa, touring the OSU campus, BBQ and Bocce Ball, fireworks, naps, church, dinner, and lots of laughing at Ryan and Jeff's good old times. Thanks for coming. We will come see you next!

If you couldn't tell by our ensembles, yes, we love America! Thanks girls for making life in Ohio so easy to enjoy. If I can't be sitting around the campfire at Island Park on the fourth of July taking pictures with you is definitely the next best thing.

Love this 4th of July Babe!
