We're Back!

Well sort of. Right now we are still Chicago staying with Sam and Kyrsten. I am using the computer in the apartment complex clubhouse and it won't let me post any pictures...bummer I know. So I guess I will just give you a short run down on how things have been and post pictures later since those are the fun part. The drive was pretty long. We left Logan Saturday the 24th at 6 am and stopped driving at 2 am Logan time (3 am Des Moines, Iowa time which is where we stopped). That made for a long day; however, we had five drivers so no one really drove more than 3-4 hrs at a time. The next day we finished our journey by driving 11 more hrs to Columbus. Monday we were able to unload our truck into our storage unit and then Chelsey (our friend whose apartment we are staying at) took us around the city we are living in and down around campus. We are living in Dublin and it is so beautiful! Everything is so green and the town is really nice. Plus it is close distance to everything we could possibly need. Plus the distance and access to campus is pretty good and I feel a lot more comfortable about commuting 15 minutes now that I have seen it. Tuesday I met with some teachers and attended a class. Everyone was very nice and I think everything is going to work out great. Some things still need to worked out, but we should be able to take care of it in the next week or so. Wednesday we left to Chicago. We just hung out and played that night. We had to drive about 6 hrs to get from Columbus to here- a lot of driving this trip which was really the only downside. Thursday we spent the day in the city at Navy Pier and then Wrigley Field to watch the Cubs game. It was so much fun and Ryan was in heaven! Friday we spent some time shopping and then saw Wicked. It was so great and I would highly recommend it. Saturday we did some more driving as we headed to Nauvoo. We visited Carthage and that was really amazing and spiritual. To stand where the prophet Joseph Smith died was a humbling experience. Then we were able to do a session at the temple in Nauvoo and do baptisms. Both experiences were great. The temple is beautiful and it was really special to be there with all of my family. Sunday was spent in Nauvoo again visiting the historic sights. We stayed in this great little cottage right on the Mississippi that was so cute. We wanted to stay longer, but my parents and Jace and Taigen flew home yesterday. Ryan and I decided to stay for a few more days since we don't really have an apartment or jobs. Soon enough we will have plenty to do so we decided to relax while we can. So this was a long recap and yet I feel like I didn't cover half of what we did. We had such a great time as a family and made so many great memories. Our apartment should be ready by the end of next week or the beginning of the next. Hopefully pictures will be coming soon!

Brody and Stacey said you guys met last night. I'm glad you know them now. We told Brody to make sure that he gives Ryan a hard time. I'm glad that you are doing well. We miss you already. We went to Lake Powell this week and we were listening to some music, and the beautiful soul song came on. Oh the memories! that picture was from the night that we had tin foil dinners right before Derek left for Texas. It was right after you got married. Sorry longest comment ever.
