La Rue

La Rue is French for "The Street". For school today we put on a special luncheon for our faculty and other University guests that went along with this theme (yes we had to do this for a grade). It was actually very fun and it turned out great! Six of us were back of the house- the cooks! and six of us were front of the house- serving and decorating. I was part of back of the house and it was a little intense. We had to have all of the food plated and looking beautiful (sorry no pics of the food!) and served on time and warm. Me and another girl were in charge of the steak dijon- steak with mushrooms, onions, and a dijon mustard cream sauce-kind of a scary thing to be in charge of! But it turned out great along with all of the other items on the menu. The dining area was complete with the Eifel Tower pictured above, a french painter, and a flower shop. We even had someone taking pictures of the guests at the Eifel Tower and someone playing the accordian! So this is just a glimpse of some of the CRAZY things I do for school each and every day!

What kind of animal is that on your head??? :) Not everyone looks as cute as you do. Sounds like you need to try this whole thing out in Island Park with the family this summer. What do you think?

I went to this mini restaurant event last year and it was so cool! I really liked it, it was kind of a homeless/vagabaund theme. It looks like this year was another great one! love ya tar!
