March felt short and long at the very same time. It was full of ups and downs, that is for sure, but it certainly ended the right way, remembering our Savior and that He lives. We are so blessed!
To start the month off, our little ladies did their part to encourage colon cancer awareness and remember their Papa Scott! Those blue shirts certainly bring out their beautiful blue eyes that they inherited straight from him!
Eliza is becoming more independent (and more troublesome) each day. She has to walk everywhere we go, LOVES to climb (so much more than her older sister ever did), and is very vocal about her displeasure if something is not going her way. She is keeping us on our toes, but we are laughing all the while as it is much too hard to get mad at someone who manages to eat a sandwich so daintily.
At the beginning of the month we took a little road trip to Utah and Idaho. The girls were troopers once again as they were forced to sleep and entertain themselves in the car for hours on end. This was such a busy trip and there was not one single day that we were not driving in the car for at least an hour. Troopers, I tell ya!
While some of life's harder moments were a part of our trip home, it was also wonderful in so many ways! My best twin and I were reunited once again, sister/baby photo ops were made possible, we celebrated our new sister-to-be with a lovely brunch and party, and grandma even babysat while the mom and dad were able to enjoy a belated anniversary getaway at a charming B&B. If nothing else this trip reminded us of how lucky we are to come from such a beautiful place, with such wonderful people cheering us on through this journey called life.
I am so grateful that we are able to live so close (as in about 2 minutes) from the temple. When we were deciding on our next adventure after dental school, the only inspiration that kept coming to my mind was a need to be close to a temple. We were lucky to find a job in a city with a beautiful one, and after each visit I come away reminded about what is most important for my little family right now.
Spring might just be on it's way! We were thrilled enough to bust out the slide and play outside in the backyard on our first 50 degree day of the year. Since then we have enjoyed a few nice days and even went to the park in short-sleeves today! Sunshine is most certainly good for the soul.
My beautiful friend had a birthday! I am so lucky to have this beautiful, talented, and compassionate woman as a friend in this life. We have been through a lot together in the almost 9 years we have known each other and I sure love her!
It's Girl Scout cookie time, which is extra bad news when your husband is on a "diet" and taking part in a weight loss competition. That means all of those cookies are getting eaten by yours truly. Not good!
I always feel bad when the girls have to sleep in their car seats. It never looks comfortable, and this time was no exception. How did she even manage to fall asleep like that? It was a picture-worthy pose for sure.
The days of being a mother to young children are never dull. There multiple baths due to spilled milk and imaginations that run wild. Often times there are tears and screaming due to one travesty or another, but every once in a while there are those perfect moments. Sisters reading stories together while wearing princess dresses definitely counts as one of those perfect moments. I love exploring and learning about the world with these two girls leading the way.
Stella is growing up right before my eyes. She is in love with getting her nails painted, wearing jewelry, and her new lip gloss from Nana Joni. I am slightly afraid to meet the teenage version of our little diva.
And of course, everyone's favorite part of the day is when we hear the garage door open and we know that our great daddy is home. No matter what else is happening in our lives, when we are all together everything seems okay.
