On Sunday morning we ate our final meal overlooking the ocean and left a little piece of our hearts behind on the ship.
Because flights were nearly $100 cheaper if we left Puerto Rico on Monday, we had decided to stay an extra night in San Juan before returning to Ohio.
After 8 days of being away from our kids I think we were all questioning that decision a little bit, but our extra day allowed for a visit to the rainforest, a final trip to the beach, and some of the best food any of us have ever had.
Our visit to the rainforest took place during our only rainy day of the entire vacation.
But we will all admit that exploring the jungle in the pouring rain is pretty awesome.
We hiked to the top of this look out tower and the views of lush, green forests went on as far as the eye could see.
Thanks to some recommendations from one of my high school friends who lives in San Juan and one of the dental professors who is from there we were able to stay right on the beach in an affordable little hotel and eat at a restaraunt that served the best rice and beans ever!
The hotel and the restaraunt actually happened to be only a five minute walk from on another so it all worked out perfectly.
We had so much fun celebrating graduation with our wonderful friends!
The last four years have not always been easy, but we have made it through them together. I still can't believe that in only 6 short weeks we will all be scattered across the country starting all over once again.
Actually, let's not talk about it quite yet.
I will say that our next cruising adventure can't come soon enough. Too bad it is going to be another four years before I feel brave enough to leave my kids again!

looks like so much fun! I've been dying for a real vacation with Chris. Maybe in two years when he is done :) and I love you pink and black swimsuit. and I sure hope you don't feel bad about leaving your kids because of Eliza's RSV! that could have happened at any time. every mama deserves a break. maybe the Lord knew you needed a break, so the RSV happened under her loving grandmas' care :) Glad you guys had such a great time! I'm so excited that you get to move on to real life (and a real income :).
I am so glad you were able to keep the trauma at home from ruining your trip. That would have been a shame. It sounds like your girls were in great hands. I am almost drooling with jealousy looking at all your pictures! It looks like such an amazing trip! What a great culmination of four hard years! Now to the next adventure in Montana!
