The Little Toddler That Could

Something about the girls first pony tail this week has got me feeling awfully nostalgic.
She is just getting soooo big!

So for her first year of life I recorded all of her major milestones and firsts in a lovely (I guess that would be up to viewer) scrapbook filled with pictures of the misses on one page and a monthly calendar on the other.
Okay, maybe there are zero pictures actually in place in this book I speak of, but someday there will be.
Anyways...now that she is no longer in year one of life and yet still learning and growing and milestoning away, I had a slight breakdown about how I would remember these important events.
And then I remembered the bloggity blog.
That means you all get to acknowledge and applaud her latest and greatest tricks too.

February 4, 2011: Took her first set of consecutive steps.  She did this on our trip to Victor, Idaho and sadly dad missed it.
February 13, 2011: Really started walking on her own.  We no longer have to encourage her to walk by bribing her with television remotes and Ipods.

This last week she has also learned more signs and will touch her nose when you ask her where it is.
She is learning the sign language simply by watching her Baby Signing Time DVDs.
It is amazing how much she catches on.

With her increase in smarts comes an increase in these lovely emotional breakdowns.
She knows what she wants and she knows when she doesn't get it.
Oh the joys.

She became attached to this bib for about a day (Erin?!)

Spring decided to tease us for a few days last week.  We enjoyed temps in the upper fifties and even hit the low sixties one afternoon.
Sunshine is glorious if you didn't know.
We took a few walks in the stroller (PS we just got this umbrella stroller about a month ago.  Love it!  I never want to use the monster travel system stroller again.  I dread the day of the double stroller giant.)
But Stella much preferred when our walks looked like this:

We spent Saturday night enjoying a free OSU hockey game.
I still know very little about the sport, but we enjoyed the crazy OSU band, meeting Brutus the Buckeye (I am glad this picture makes it look like Ryan is the one excited to see him), and chatting with friends.

On Saturday Stella became even more of a toddler when she graduated to the forward facing big girl car seat.
She loves facing forward and tends to laugh the entire time we are driving anywhere now.
She thinks she is pretty funny.

Playing around in the trunk while we set up the new seat.

This week I have really felt like my baby is no longer.
Good thing I love my busy little toddler just as much!

I can't believe she is walking now! That is quite the eventful week, full of accomplishments. I will admit, after you sent me the picture of the pony tail I tried some little pig tails in Brielle's, needless to say we will be waiting a little longer before we try any more hair do's. Stellar, WE LOVE YOU!

sad how fast they grow :(. Aren't umbrella strollers the best?! You will love it during zoo and zoombezi bay seasons also - p.s. can't wait for those seasons to arrive...

1) I'm glad stella only did the bib thing for 1 day. between carly's multiple bib phase and now the dishtowels . . . i would have serious sympathy for you.

2)yay for walking! its crazier but they seem so much happier (and older)

3)she got the same carseat as carly. isn't it just like a tiny lazyboy? haha. i'm often jealous of her.

4)so sad spring came and left so quickly.

5)yes umbrella's are the bomb. especially while flying. i can't imagine taking my big tank stroller to the airport. think you can fit two kids in a single umbrella stroller?

She looks so much like Ryan this week. Wow. i can't believe how much she has changed just since you left. Miss you guys. you will have to get the book Stephanies ponytail book from the library. It is a cute book. maybe a little too old for her now but a cute book.

She is geting so big! Not a baby anymore!!! I loved the day that Blakelee could go into a forward facing carseat! So much better when they can actually ride in the car and see something!

I can't believe how big she is getting! She is adorable! It is so fun to read all of her new milestones because our little girls are so close in age! It's so fun when they start to walk, except when they realize all of the higher objects they can now destroy!
