Proud to be an American Chopper

I know it looks like we have changed our ways a little, but I promise we went to church today. And it was even stake conference. To begin I just wanted to say a little something about the future of America. Election day was pretty amazing here in Ohio. As you know, Ohio was an important battle ground state for determining the next president of the United States and many people here in Ohio were very passionate about electing the candidate of their choice. It made me very proud and excited to see everyone waiting in long lines or rearranging their schedule to vote with the knowledge that no matter the outcome of the race their vote counted in some way. I can't imagine living in a country where intimidation and corruption decided the next leader rather than the voice of the people. I didn't vote for Barack Obama, but I don't think he is the devil, I don't think our country is going to fall apart, and I don't think one man can completely alter the outcome of this country for good or for bad. Granted he will be working with an increasingly overwhelming Democratic majority that will likely make decisions and pass laws that will affect aspects of our daily living, but I am not living in fear of what "this man" might do to us. In fact I am a little excited to see how our country evolves in the next 4 years, and if it turns out for the worst then hopefully the following 4 years will be better. But I can say I will respect him as our President even if I don't always agree with him.
I don't really consider myself a political person so that will have to do for my delving into politics on the blog or really in any conversation I may have with you. School is still busy for the both of us, but we are hanging in there and enjoying the free time we do have. Having such a great support group of friends makes it easy to fill our extra moments with parties, food, laughter, and of course Buckeye football. This picture below (which I uploaded from my phone just now. Wow I am getting tech savvy!) is from the OSU v Penn State game. It was a night game which made it very exciting. Unfortunately we lost and now Penn State has lost too! Hopefully they can loose again and we will win out and make it to a BCS game. Otherwise there is always next year I guess (or at least sometime in the next 3!!).
Our Halloween was chuck full of famous encounters. At our party alone we were able to mingle with the likes of Jim Tressell, the Jonas Brothers, and Forrest Gump and his lovely gal Jenny. I think our presence slightly intimidated them as they all offered us their wallets and jewelry upon approach. So quick to judge. I had a blast hanging out with my tatted up stud as we ate too much good food, played games, and even hit a pinata. Yeah, our party was sweet.
This week we don't have school on Tuesday thanks to Veteran's day so we are trying to decide if we want to go exploring with some friends or catch up on our responsibilities in the real world. Hmmm...hard decision. No matter what we do Tuesday we are looking forward to this weekend as nearly 20 of us are heading to Cleavland to watch the Jazz vs Cavs game. I am so excited to watch the Jazz (Kyle Korver) beat LeBron and the Cavs. We are going to try and hit up the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame while we are there as well. It is going to be sweet. So, overall don't feel too bad for us. We are busy, but we are still having a blast with our friends and with each other. Love to all!

OMG!!!! Its the Jonas Brothers - and yes each of them are wearing Amy's pants
Jonas 1 (don't' really know their names), Super Fan, and the little Lady Bug- Jayden was making so many funny faces. Loved it.
Coach Tressell, The Ref who puts him in his place, and little Tucker the Turtle! Tucker is my surrogate baby. I love him.
Jeffrey the molar (he promised everyone he was going to dress up as a tooth) was supposed to judge the pumpkin decorating contest. Unfortunately Mr. American Chopper had to do the duties, and for some reason he gave our pumpkin "Dead Last". He did enjoy decorating it though. If you look close you will see our little pumpkin is as hard core as we are.

Hey Taryn, in case your comment about Obama was in response to my post, please let me renigg a little by saying that A. I was being dramatic B. I was overly passionate no thanks to my husband C. I've calmed down a lot since then and I'm at peace now. If it wasn't in any way a response to my post than just ignore this comment and have a great day!
